B.A.S.S has a debate on their website for the greatest angler to ever fish tournaments. They have narrowed it down to the top 10. They are: Denny Brauer, Camdenton, Mo. Rick Clunn, Ava, Mo. Bill Dance, Collierville, Tenn. Mark Davis, Mount Ida, Ark. Gary Klein, Weatherford, Texas Roland Martin, Naples, Fla. Larry Nixon, Bee Branch, Ark. Hank Parker, Denver, N.C. Kevin VanDam, Kalamazoo, Mich. Jay Yelas, Tyler, Texas My personal favourites are Rick Clunn and Kevin Vandam You can go here to vote for your favourite. espn.go.com/outdoors/gad/gallery/gad05.htmlWho is your favourite Angler?? Is it any of the top 10? One person that I would have liked to see make the top 10 is Woo Daves. Pete

Pete, good board, by the way.
I had a bit different take on this idea. I had favorites, also, but voted based on what I thought were characteristics for the "greatest" tournament angler as opposed to using who I liked as a basis. No offense meant, certainly, we all must do as we see fit, just wanted to insert a different view. As it happened, the guy I voted for is also on my "like" list, but it was the basis I was addressing.
I also would have like to had an option to vote for Woo. We all know that consistency is really the name of the game, as on any given tournament, a few ounces doesn't mean that the 2nd, or 3rd, or 4th (etc) place finisher is any less the fisherman. If I am not mistaken, Woo is the only angler to finish in every single top 10 slot in the Classic. To me, that's a serious accomplishment, perhaps more serious an accomplishment than winning a Classic.

Hey Al, I'm glad that you joined the board and posted..Welcome!!
I agree with you in that consistency is the key to being successful in tournaments however, an angler is only as good as his last tournament. As for consistency my vote went to Rick Clunn for his 28 consecutive appearances and winning 4 Bassmaster classics.
To me that is consistency.

Hank Parker would be my first choose Have to agree with Pete though Rick Clunn deserves a lot of credit Roland Martin is right there too. Both these guys are class acts. One of the guys I think should have been on this list is Ron Shuffield. Jeremy
