Hey Folks, Once again this year we will be holding our 3rd Annual Kids Charity Tournament for CHEO. May 2nd from 10 AM to 2 PM at Rideau Ferry Harbour Marina (aka Safari). Thank you to John McLaughlin and the staff of Rideau Ferry Harbour Marina for hosting this event for us again this year. There will be prizes for the kids along with refreshments. A cost of $10 per child with all of the proceeds going to CHEO. To date we have raised close to $600. This year our goal is $300. If you are looking for a time to take a child out fishing, this is just that time. Please let me know if you plan on attending just so we have an idea of the number of children. See you all on May 2nd. Pete

Hi Pete:
Sorry for not getting back to you sooner. We'll have 5 kids there tomorrow--probably around 11 or so. See you then!

Hey Folks, Well our 3rd annual Kid's Charity event for CHEO is over and in the books for another year. The weather co-operated with us yesterday giving us mostly sunny skies and the fish sure did co-operate as well. A record number of fish were caught yesterday including a young anglers first ever cat fish. We didn't get the number of kids we were hoping for this year with only 11 participants but they all had fun catching fish and there definitely was some friendly competition going on amongst them. $455 was raised this year which brings our total over the past 3 years to over $1000. Thanks goes out to the following people for making this year's event a success: - John McLaughlin and the staff at Rideau Ferry Harbour Marina
- First Mate Lures
- Northamfishing
- "Big" Jim McLaughlin and Shimano
- George's Marine and Sports
- Esterline CMC Electronics
Check out the main website at www.peterlarmand.com/outdoors/childrens-charity for pictures. Thanks again to everyone that supported our event and we hope that next years event will be even bigger. Pete

Hey Pete,
As an old friend of ours said,
"An event like this makes the heart feel good"
My guys really enjoyed themselves, they are bugging me for new tackle boxes, they got some much stuff.
Thanks so much to The Larmand family for taking time out of there busy schedule to put this event on.
It was great to watch our young anglers give it all and have fun too!
My guys were wondering if you could start a sunfish series ;D
God Bless, The Parker Clan

Hey Jeremy and Parker Boys, It was a pleasure seeing you all again. I can't believe how much the boys have grown. I will get pictures up on the kid section soon. Congratulations again to Isaacc on his 3rd place finish. Good job buddy. Jeremy, I have had some success in tournament fishing both on a small and large scale. However, watching those kids catching and landing those panfish has to be one of the best things so far for me in fishing. I mean the emotion and expressions on their faces when they catch those fish is priceless. It's a true emotion, pure and innocent as they are. There is no pretending. It's sheer joy. Then to watch them as they accept their awards. It does nothing but put a smile on my face. Now, if we can just get more kids out to this event and show the other kids how much fun fishing can be and how great the outdoors really is the better this event will be. Take care Parker family. Pete P.S. please say hi to Lynn and the baby for us.
