Hi All,
I'm thinking about hitting Lake St. Francis out of Lancaster sometime soon, and I was wondering if anyone has any tips/suggestions for that part of the St. Lawrence. I've never fished there, but I've heard that the fishing's pretty good. I'd be mostly looking for pike, or maybe some of their famous perch.
Any suggestions are appreciated.
Cheers!
Gary

Hey Gary, For Pike hit any of the shore lines lots of big pike 10+ pounds.I like to catch them on a flyrod but they will hit big spinnerbaits and large minnow topwaters. (I'm sure you know this though?) If you have charts of the area look for an area called Island Bank, please be careful lots of rocks. Look for the weed beds some will be so thick your motor will get stalled in them The perch like to hang around the shaded outside of these weeds so fish with the sun in your face and fish the edges. There favourate food is minnows (small )but they will take small crankbaits and grubs. God Bless, Jeremy

Hey Gary, I wish I could help you out on that one but unfortunately, I have never been on that particular body of water. Which doesn't boad well for me because I have a tournament on Lake St. Francis this summer. Let us know how you make out if you get out fishing. Pete

Hey Pete,
The Bass fishery is great on this body of water figure it will take about 21lbs to win this one. You want to learn the Largemouth fishery.

Hi Guys. Thanks for the tips. I went out last week, launching out of Lancaster, and poked around a bit. Didn't find a lot until I hit the mouth of the Raisin River. For three days in a row I hauled 4 and 5 pound smallmouth and 7+ pound pike out of there one after the other. I was fishing for pike, but the smallmouth were hard to avoid. The pike were hitting 3 inch grubs. White ones seemed to be what they liked best. They would follow spinnerbaits, but wouldn't commit. Even caught some Walleye, up the Raisin River a bit. It was fantastic fishing! You're right Jeremy, lots of BIG pike. Now if I could only get the Rideau River wired in. That river has got me stumped for some reason. I keep trying the stretch from Manotick to the 416, and only get the odd pike, walleye, bass, etc. Not a lot of numbers though. What about other stretches of the river, like Kilmarnock?? (Don't know if I spelled that right...) Gary
