Hey Folks, Every year when I go out fishing I try and learn a new technique to add to my arsenal that will help me become a better angler. This year I'm going to concentrate on the drop shot. What technique do you plan on learning this year? Or is there a technique that you want to perfect this year? Tell us about it. Pete

Great topic Pete. It's an opportunity for folks to share what they've learned with others.
This year I plan on learning how to fish a jig better. Strangely enough, I've never had great success with them so I've been studying over the winter and plan on working on that technique throughout the summer. I've never really used them a lot, but they're a key bait when searching for hawgs, and a technique that I think is useful in any angler's arsenal.

Hey Pete, This is going to sound bad, but I'm going to say it? If you don't want it on the board you will not offend me. Drop shotting is not new? Walleye fisherman have been doing it for ages and fly fishers have been doing it for God only knows how long? Me personally I'm going to have this year away from tournaments and will work with all technique. The one I really want to work on is all of them as I learn new things about each technique every year. Some that I will work on are , Jigging sthingys, Carolina rigging, jig fishing, crankbaits you know them all? I believe you spend time with all as different situations call for different things. just wish they would let me use my flyrod in tournaments God Bless, Jeremy

Hey all
This season I'm going to concentrate on 5 lbs plus bass only.Ha ha. The two things that I will focus on this season are carolina rigging and (hard) jerkbaits. I figure after about two or three years of practicing I should get pretty good at it

Hey Claude, If you figure out how to catch nothing but 5 lbers, you can make a lot of money doing seminars. Pete
