Hi All,
Well my flies are on there way to Norway. I was only able to finish 7 flies to send to the Mustad Scandinavian Open?
My hope was to enter 9 Categories but there was a few problems I had 17 plus hours into both flies and my boys thought I needed help to finish them ;D I did not have the time or the Materials to start over as it took me several weeks to match all the feathers for the flies 26 sets of feathers to be exact. Owell there is always next year! The flies I entered are Blue Rat, Catskill Curler nymph, Magog Smelt, Barr fly, Ausable Wulff, GP tied on a double hook and a fly called an Owner first tied in the late 1800's. The other two I was tying were The Golden Butterfly(required to tie, pattern supplied)I will still tie one of these when its complete I will post a picture of it, this is the most beautiful fly. The other one was The Painted Snow fly. I will likely tie this one this winter with hopes to use it in the open division next year. The one problem with this fly is i need to either find some more Painted snowthingy feathers or find someone with full plume Quail? Anyone has any idea's please suggest I'm always open.
God Bless, Jeremy

Good luck Jeremy! Good choices on the flies by the way. I sent an e-mail to Jack Simpson about the quail, but he hasnt gotten back to me, and i have no clue . I picked up a few of Fran's flies when I was in Lake Placid a few weeks ago and I was very surprised to see them. They were very sloppy: thread hanging down, deer hair instead of woodchuck on the wulff and messily dubbed. When I tested them in my sink they were perfectly balanced though, so im sure they would work fine. I'm glad I picked them up though, as he is fly fishing idol. Good luck, your flies are amazing! mike(youth worlds in state college, pennsylvania BTW:)
