Hi all, The week of Oct. 30th I plan to be in Ottawa and would like to try and get out a few evenings and try for some muskie on the Rideau. I've never fished for muskie in my life so if anyone would mind sharing a little how and where, I'd really appreciate it. I'm just looking for some tips that might give me a bit of a chance to have some fun and get a couple good pictures. Cheers! Gary

Hey Gary, I can tell you that they were trolling and cast suicks for them near the Becketts Boat Yard. That's pretty much I can tell you for muskie. I know that Jeremy has fished for them before, he would be able to help you out with that question. Good luck and let us know how you make out. Pete

Hey Gary, Send me a PM I would be glad to help you. I guided on this piece of water when I was 15yrs old for Pike, Muskie and Walleye at that time Bass were just a pain trash fish how times change? I'll share anything that would help you in your quest, This fall has been slow for me, I have only caught about 20 or so on the fly rod with the largest just over 25lbs. Just have not had the time i would like on the water with hunting now started. Till then, Jeremy

20 muskie on the fly.....wow great work Jeremy! I was hoping to fish the draining of the canal, with the muskie flies you gave me, but when I went there it was already dried up I did catch my first muskie though!! Below the dam on the mississippi river at galetta. It was just a baby(20-22 inches) but it gave a good fight and jumped! It was much fatter and rounder than any pike I've ever caught with no blemishes. It was quite lucky, and I caught it on a size 1 olive wooly bugger.
