Hi all,
Can anyone share some specific spots on the Rideau River, from Manotick down, for bass? I'm taking some friends out over the weekend who don't do a lot of fishing, we don't want to go far to launch the boat, so the Rideau would be ideal. I want to make sure they catch something but I haven't fished it enough to know any good spots.
I appreciate the tips.
Gary

Steve. I went to the Pro/Am to find some thing out in my self. I'm not new to fish tournaments. I did not have fun fishing spot that had on fish. There are things from the past that make me not what to fish any more touraments. Fishing should be FUN.

Stephen, That is too bad that you didn't have a good time fishing during the Pro-Am. Unfortunately, I can not comment on that as I was not a participate at this tournament. However, Stephen you are correct. Fishing should be fun whether it's for a friendly outing or a tournament. If you are fishing and not having fun then there is something wrong. Perhaps you were with the wrong individual. By that I mean that there was no chemistry between you and your partner. It's very difficult to fish with a new person that you have never fished with before, especially in a team tournament like that one is. I know that you have fished tournaments before but I think that if you give it another try in perhaps a less money driven club that you will find that tournament fishing can once again be fun. Just my thoughts however, I hope that you return to fishing tournaments once again. Pete

Hey Gary, Sorry, I completely missed your question. Here's some suggestions: There are some good weed lines near Taylor Park as well as the feeder creeks that come into the river like Cranberry creek and the creek from the Kars launch. Also, you really can't go wrong with pitching to the docks. I hope this helps you out a little. Let us know how you make out Buddy. Pete

Hey Steven, I hope our friendship is good enough for me to say this, SHUT UP AND FISH YOU BABY ;D JUST JOKING You bring up a good point though, you can take a fishing day two ways; 1. You can go out and have a good day ;D 2. You can go out and have a bad day Know matter what the situation you can learn from it? If you don't catch a lot of fish you can note the spot because maybe its just not hot today?I'm sure if you look at your notes from the day there is something that you learned just open your mind to it> Look at my last time out with the family all five of us in a 14ft boat. I got a 5/0 worm hook in my butt. I learned to let my 2 1/2yr old have the left side of the boat when he is casting ;D All I'm trying to say old friend is you make your day ;D I chose to love my time on the water no matter what the situation, for God only knows when he will call me home? or maybe something will happen and I will not be able to do these things anymore? Just my two cents worth, God Bless, Jeremy
