Good question Stephen, I actually gave it some more thought and I have to break it down a little further. If you are looking for sheer numbers, then yes I would have to say White Lake. You can catch 1.2 lbs clones all day long. For quality bass I will have to stick with the Rideau River from Manotick to Burritt's Rapids Pete

Hmmm...well, I've thought about it and I'm going to have to say the St. Lawrence River, Thousand Islands region. Then White Lake. I can't comment on the Rideau, I've never fished it. Although I will this summer. WOOHOO!!!! *visions of new bass boats dance in his head* Gary

Oh...speaking of Burrit's Rapids.
I hear say that above Burrit's Rapids one can find some pretty decent Musky fishing. True??

If you are talking tournaments muskrate has to be one of the best for big fish both smallies and largies, but in the same hand it is the most unpredictable body of water there is.
If you are talking just fishing bass waters constant lake has to have some of the biggest bass around and a lot of them, 24 lbs won last year and 20-21 wins every other year in the open classic. Quite a few 7.lbers cought there to. You can't leave out clayton and taylor lots of big boys there.
Alot of the time its your back hole lake that you just like to go to and fish, that is the most fun, have a couple of those and there is alot of them out there, sometimes those lakes can hold some of the biggest fish and there not pressured.
Everybody will have there favorite spots and there own oppinions, there are so many.
Best of luck to all
Andy

Big Rideau Lake is a pretty good choice however, there are days when this lake just shuts right down. I've seen it some days where the perch are hard to catch. Just ask my daughter. Pete

Andy hit the nail right on the head....
His statement "There are so many." really shows how blessed we are for fishing opportunities in our region. I travel extensively for work and pleasure across Canada and the US and I have met many fisherpersons who would give anything to have the resources we have.

Wow lots of great waters guys I have to say I'm shocked to not here about one body of water not mentioned here and most of us have fished it? I caught my personal best tournament fish on this body of water 6.62lb. I also caught my best Bass ever on this body of water 7.1lbs. I've seen guys weigh 21lb in for 4 fish so have some others on this board? There are bass on this body of water that have still not seen a fishin Bait The Ottawa river guys, how could this river slip all your minds Second for me would have to be the St. Lawrence River between Morrisburg and Brockville, lots of big smallies to 6lbs ;D Gary>The best muskie fishing on the Rideau is between Burritts Rapids to Manotick. If you want in the summer we can go out and I can show you some of the keys spot, been fishing the water since I was a kid, (so lets just say a long time )I also do some flyfishing guiding for muskie on the body of water.(We sight fish for them in the fall what a blast) Just my two cents worth, Jeremy

Jeremy, I hear August is a good time for muskie on the Rideau. Now that I have a mobile boat, I'm ready and rarin' to go and try some of those spots. Tell me what's the best time of the summer to go out, and we'll make some plans. Oh...and regarding the Ottawa River. I did think of that because I know all kinds of folks that have fished it to great success for many species, and BIG fish too. I just didn't mention it because I've never fished it. That's one thing I'm so excited about in getting a new boat. I can FINALLY try all these wonderful fisheries we have in the Ottawa area. I grew up at the cottage, so naturally, that's where I did the better part of my fishing in the Ottawa area. I'm looking forward to experiencing new waters and new techniques, so this has been a good topic...giving me some ideas where to go. Gary
