Hi all, Is anyone going to the 22nd Annual Fishing Expo and Boat Show in Timonium, MD just outside of Baltimore? It's a large show with all kinds of tackle vendors, over 200 bass boats, a lot of great seminars. Last year I saw Forrest Wood there, and the year before that I almost walked over Mike Iaconelli. (He's a bit of a runt. It's next week from January 12-15. If you're up for a weekend trip, about 8 hours away from Ottawa, it's definitely worth checking out. I look forward to it every year, and I believe I saw Pete mention once that he goes down to it. Anyhow, just a little reminder/info if anybody's interested. Check out: www.fishingexpo.comCheers! Gary

Hi Gary, Yes as a matter of fact Tony (Grumpy) and I are heading down there Thursday night. We should be at the show Friday and Saturday. Last year was the first time that I have been there and it was good. You are right about the boats. Every make of bass boat is there, the only exception is Skeeter. I don't believe that Skeeter will be there again this year. We should try and hook up while we are down there. Perhaps have dinner at the Corner Stable for the best ribs and crab cakes in Baltimore. ;D Sunday on our way home, stopping in at the BPS in Harrisburg, just for fun. Pete

Pete,
Barring any unforseen circumstances, I'm planning to be at the show Saturday. You should shoot me a cell number or something in email and we can get together. Dinner sounds like a good plan. I'm planning to be there by late morning or so. Are you just visiting or working a booth or something?
My Sunday might see me at Bass Pro briefly, but then I'm driving from Harrisburg to Toronto for work.

Hi everyone, I am writing this to you from my hotel room in Timonium MD where Tony (Grumpy) and I have gone to the Fishing Expo. Well, after eating the best ribs and crab cakes in Baltimore I decided to write about what I thought of the show so far. This show has the best selection of bass boats in 1 area that I have ever seen. I have seen the latest from Nitro, Triton, Basscat, Ranger, Stratos, Legend, Allison, Bullet so many boats so little money If anyone is looking for a new boat, then this is the show to be at. However, with that said..... the tackle side of things is something else to be desired. There were less tackle shops there then last year. That is something that I did find very disappointing. What would take normally a full day or 1 1/2 days to view everything along with attending a few seminars from some of the Nations best and knowledgeable anglers, can now be done in 1. Pete

Well, went back to the show again today, mostly for the seminars that were done today. The crowds today were insane. Lots of people. At the Basscat booth this afternoon, Marty Stone dropped in for a couple of hours. It was nice to a touring pro at this event. Well, it's back on the road tomorrow morning and heading home. Pete

Well, we are home now. let me tell you that it was quite a shock getting out of the truck to -27 last night. Considering that when we left Timonium it was +5. I think I want to move down there. All in all it was a pretty good show. The seminars were good. The amount of bass boats is just amazing. There were some tackle shops and there was everything for the bass and salthingyer angler. Looking forward to next year, Pete
