Hey Folks, Our second annual Kids Charity Tournament will be held on May 3, 2008 between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM. This year the event will be held out of Rideau Harbour Marina AKA Safari Marina. Thanks to John McLaughlin for allowing us the use of his facility. If you will be attending the event, please let me know so that we can make sure that we have enough prizes for all of the kids. Looking forward to seeing a lot of kids out for this event. Pete

Hey Pete:
Good seeing you at the show last week-end. We're looking forward to fishing in your charity derby. Count us (three kids) in...if you'd like us to bring anything, let me know. What the heck is a crappie anyway?

Hey Steve, It was nice seeing you and your little lad as well. I haven't seem him since our first kids event last year. That's perfect. It looks like we are getting some support from Big Jim, Shimano and the Canadian Sportsman Shows as well. There will be some good prizes for the kids. I will also be providing some prizes for the kids from my sponsors, George's Marine and Sports, Wave Worms and Vertical Lures have all stepped up with some products as well. It should be a good time, all we need now is to get some kids registered. See you on the 3rd. Pete

Hey Steve, Hanging on is the key there for those Habs, that's for sure. See that is the location for tomorrow. This year there will be enough room for all of the kids to fish from the dock. This way the volunteers will be able to help them unhook their fish. See you tomorrow before 10:00. Pete

Hey Folks, Well what a great day we had. We had a good turn out considering the weather didn't look like it was going to hold off but it sure did. The sun came out for most of the day. I will have some pictures to post shortly. I want to thank John McLaughlin from Rideau Ferry Harbour Marina for letting us use his facility. To everyone that donated prizes: Big Jim, Canadian Sportsmen shows, Sheldon Hatch from Ezelo, George's Marine and Sports, Wave Worms, The Cox family, the Jamieson family and Darrell Medaglia. All of the kids caught at least 1 fish but the young angler with the most was Karlan with 13 panfish. Congratulations to all of the kids. $343 was raised for CHEO. Thank you to everyone that made today possible. Pete

Hi Pete:
Many thanks to you and Kim for taking the time to put together a great event. The prizes and loot-bags were amazing and the barbecued hot-dogs hit the spot. Our children had a super time and are already planning on doing it again next year. It warms the heart to see kids taking an active interest in fishing, and events like yours go a long way in cultivating that early love of the sport...and all for a very worthy cause. You even got the weather to cooperate. Looking forward to next year,
The Cox Family

Steve, There is no greater satisfaction than to watch the faces of children when they are catching fish. If this event makes even 1 of the children love the sport and the outdoors, then it's all worth it. That and the fact as you say it's for a good cause. We are looking forward to seeing the Cox family return next year. Pete
