Hi everyone, I just wanted to share my last trip water fowling for this year.
I woke at 330 as usual put the coffee pot on and sat down at my fly tying bench as my friend would not be arriving till 530. Phone rings at 530 he is going to be late his ignition has frozen. Oh ya forgot to tell you it was Nov.24 yesterday it -15C. he arrives at 620am. we load the truck as usual and head out. Packed lots of coffee and some sandwich's. We arrive at our destination the river is frozen. We get out of the truck and are talking about the hunts we have had on this spot for so many years. Shhhh I hear some geese. We went for a little drive to see if we could see them. We saw one flock off in the distance. We go back to the spot we where going to hunt and pull out the shotguns. We sit in the snow on the edge of the field and eat sandwiches and drink coffee. We spent a couple hours there watching crows , snowbirds blue jays. We both laugh and joke this will be the first time we will get skunked this year, we did not see another bird.
I guess when I reflect back onto Saturday hunting to me is much more than shooting things its the love of the outdoors and the time spend with good friends and family. We are such a blessed country

PS Pete was not sure were to put this so you will not offend me if you want to move it. JP

Hey Jeremy, That's a great story. That's one of the good things about the outdoors. It brings people together for the sport of what they are doing which in turn creates memories that will last forever. That's great that you have those memories. Thanks for sharing. Pete
