Well NASCAR fans....it's that time of year again. Get the surround sound all polished up and get ready to "CRANK IT UP" Speedweek starts next week in Daytona Florida at Daytona International Speedway. Home of the "Great American Bash" the Daytona 500. Is your favourite driver going to win this year? I sure hope that mine does I'm not going down this year but I hope to got either in 07 or 08 again. I went in 03 for the first time and it was unbelievable. TV doesn't do that track any justice when it comes to the size of that track. Let's hope that they have a safe race and a safe season. Go JR Go!! #8 Pete

Yep...not too long to go and we can watch racin' again! WOOHOO!
I know what you mean Pete, TV doesn't do NASCAR justice. Actually attending a race is an unforgettable experience. When you hear over 34000 horses kick it in on the starting green for the first time...man, makes you shake in your boots. I've been to the California Speedway, the Pocono Raceway, and Dover...it never gets old. One year I'll get to Daytona, but to be honest, I want to get to Talladega and Bristol first.
Speaking of TV, here's a question for debate from any NASCAR fans. What TV broadcast do you like best...FOX, or NBC?
I personally think FOX is far superior. They have so much more fun at it, provide much more insight into the sport and behind the scene action, and just make is so much more enjoyable to watch on TV. The NBC crew is, well, boring. Too conservative and plain. Just my opinion... I'm glad we're back to FOX for the first half of the season. I guess after this year though, we won't be watching it on NBC, due to ESPN taking over for them. Wonder how that's going to affect NBC's desire to work with the BASS tournaments???

I think that the next track that I would like to go to is Loudon. NH. As for your question about which broadcast do I prefer...it would have to be hands down Fox. Although it's a Ford, the cut out car is the best way to get people closer to what is happening with a race car than just having Benny Parsons explaining it. Don't get me wrong I like Benny but the visual is a lot better. Boogggeetttyyyy, Boogggeetttyyyy, Boogggeetttyyyy As for NBC covering BASS...the only thing that I can see them covering would be the Classic. Other than that, I would be very surprised. However, I think that from a business point of view. I think that they would be foolish not to broadcast BASS. Just my opinion. Go JR Go!! Pete

Actually, it's not NBC covering BASS, it's still ESPN. But, now that ESPN is back into NASCAR, there are those that wonder how much time and effort will be devoted to BASS. Obviously NASCAR is going to be a big cash cow for them.

Oh sorry my mistake. I personally think that if ESPN has something big with BASS and if they continue to play their cards right, they might bring up another level from what it is already. However, I just don't know how long they will wait for that to happen. Pete
