I'm sure it's not news anymore but before the race last weekend in Looudon NH DEI and Waltrip announced that they were parting ways. Am I ever glad to hear that ;D See y'a Michael. Stick with T.V buddy, it's where you belong. DEI will be going woth 2 teams for next season 2006. Of course the #8 Budweiser Team of Dale Earnhardt JR and I believe the #1 Tracker/Bass Pro Shops team of Marrtin Truex JR. For those of that don't know how Martin Truex JR is.....he was discovered and given a chance by Little E to drive for his Busch Series team. Truex JR is last season's Busch series Champion and he is on his way to repeat again this year. Truex has ran a couple of cup races this season and finished well. Exciting times for DEI for next season. Go DEI Go Go JRs GO Pete

Pete,
I agree, Waltrip is better suited to TV...he's not one of the best drivers. However, I think the guy is great. He's a great personality and good for the sport because of it. I also think the best thing that could happen to him is to leave DEI. He's basically getting the shaft there and gets tossed Jr's leftovers.

Pete, I also think the best thing that could happen to him is to leave DEI. He's basically getting the shaft there and gets tossed Jr's leftovers. Gary Gary, If your last statment were true, then yes I would feel sorry for Mikey but in fact it's the exact opposite. After JR's great season last year and Waltrip's usual average performance, DEI wanted to try and make 2 competitive teams instead of just the 1. What happen in the off season was that the drivers switched teams. This also included the cars as well. All of those cars that Waltrip did well in were JR's cars from the year before. JR was driving all of Waltrip's cars. DEI made this move to try and field 2 competitive teams instead of just the #8 Bud team. This strategy didn't work. Another bad performance this weekend in Pocono almost puts an end to the season for the DEI team. I believe next season will be a good year for DEI. With Martin Truex JR (Busch Team driver) coming up and joining the cup team will do wonders for Dale JR. I believe that now JR is racing to see who finishes 11th for the cool 1 million dollars. Pete
