That's great Jeremy. We are glad the boys enjoyed the books and the baits. I hope that we can all get out again some time soon for those crappie. We really enjoy watching the kids catch them. They aren't shy about hiding from the camera either with the catches. Way to boys. HI JOSH Pete

Hey Folks, Yesterday the whole family went crappie fishing. We headed out to Beverages Locks late afternoon for some crappie action. When we arrived there were a few anglers fishing. Lots were catching blue gill and sunfish, not vey many crappie. Jessica was the first to catch anything. She actually caught the first 2 fish. Unfortunately, they were not crappie. She caught them on a BRT black cricket. I tried different colours and finally I caught some on a red and chartreuse tube. Again no crappie. Kim joined in the action catching her fish on a BRT black cricket. As we were fishing there was a pike in the area having a feast. It was nice to see nature in action. All in all, no crappie but lots of family fun. Can't wait until next weekend to try it again. Pete and family

Hey Gang, Finally the summer crappie are starting to bit. The water has been so high and chugging down the spots I normally fish. The weather looks like it will finally settle down so we can get down to some real crappie fishing.1/4oz bucktail jig/minnow, Float,10lb test and canepole. (You all call it a jigger pole ) The brush we pull these guys out of is so thick you have to pull straight up or loose them. These are the biggest Crappie of the season and the ones for the freezer. Anyone else still fishing Crappie? Jeremy

Hey Jeremy, Are fishing at the same spot that we took the kids to?? I haven't done any fishing yet this month. Having battery problems and spring chores that needed getting done before bass season started. I hope to be out soon though. Pete

Hey Pete
No this is not the spot. This spot I take my Canoe and a cooler with ice and when I have 30 I come home. Should have close to 22lbs of fillets when all is said and done. Normally takes me about 4hrs to fill the quote. Took Joshua last year and found out that small children are not a good idea to take in a canoe, especially when they stand up when they get a fish on, o well the cooler floats and we both float with lifejackets on. Fishing gear took me a while to find in 10feet of water found everything except my minnow bucket which I found in the fall hunting for ducks and geese.
Later , Jeremy
