Jeremy, Yes as a matter of fact it happened to me last summer. Grumy and I were doing a nitro tournament with George's Marine and Sport out of Golden Lake and during the morning blast off I hit the throttle and all you hear is thunk. I wasn't sure whether to cry or get angry. Fortunately, no major damage. Just scrapped the paint of the skeg. All is well. Pete

I use a lot of tube jigs around rock piles. Darrel influenced me into that. He introduced me to tubes on rockpiles on Mississippi Lake and gravel beds on the Rideau River in the '80s and early 90's.
There's a certain rock pile I like to fish with a top water in the evening after dinner. Zaras or poppers usually.
There are other rockpiles where I like to just park a big worm at deepest edge and wait it out. I know they're there.
Probing the nooks and crannies of certain rockpiles can be rewarding too. Texas rigged craw or lizard. I'll try a flippin jig this season for that too. Tony and Darrel have been building my confidence in those so I can't wait to try them.
Speaking of Golden Lake's rockpiles, I caught a nice largemouth by burning a spinnerbait just under the surface 17' feet over rock. Darrel's idea and it worked.
