I know that it's early in April but I saw my first groundhog this evening coming home from work. ;D Has anyone else seen any??? I mean I've seen beavers here on the lake (actually the neightbours dock) but nontheless still saw beavers. But my first groundhog. Now I know that spring has finally arrived. Although this past weekend I was starting to wonder. Bring on the bass season!!! Pete

Pete The groundhogs are eating the first clover that has started to grow. Have you also noticed how everything seems to be coming out of the woods and enjoying those first rays of warm sun. I was up by Buckham's Bay just to the west and stopped the truck to watch a bear eating dogwood buds. Started cleaning up the yard today some of my current bushes are in bud noticed my patch of stinging nettles is also growing quite well. Can't wait for stinging nettle tea and the chance to make some more string from the plants. Spring is such a wonderful time of year. Everything that has been dormant under the harsh winter snow and ice is starting to slowly wake up. The birds are busy getting nest ready, I notice my Robin boxes are already occuppied. The geese are heading North again and that graceful Blue heron is back. Couple more weeks and I plant my first produce for the garden onions (about 200) . My garlic is already showing in the garden. This is all your fault Pete me carrying on like this As you can see this is my favorite season. It's like a new begining every year at this time. Everything is renewing itself. I have s...p...ri..n.g fever. And all this started from asking about a Ground Hog God Bless! Jeremy

Hey Jeremy, Just think I was going to mention the blue heron standing on the dock last night Like you, I too enjoy spring. The reason I think that is...is the long cold winters. Although I spend most of it in arenas, I still prefer the spring and summer months. Heck I prefer any season that I don't have to walk around in 4 different layers. Pete
