What are the opions in the new WFN Bass Tour? Will it survive and thrive or will it go the way of so many other bass tournament circuits in Canada. I hope it succeeds because it would be great to have a high-level tour in Canada, but I still think you have to go south if you want to take it seriously. Hey Gary, Those are some good questions. I was looking into this yesterday and I have been seriously looking into this circuit however, $9,000 (if you register early) in entry fees. WOW!!! I can fish the Stren Northern series for $3,200 with the same payout. Something to seriously think about. You will spend the same amount of money on fuel and accomidations regardless of the series that you do. I guess you have to weigh the pros and cons of both series. I just think that might have priced themselves out of some anglers. I like the idea of having an event like this in Canada because for those anglers that have sponsors, this is a great opportunity to generate exposure for themselves and their sponsors. However, the one question that you have to ask yourself is this. What will make this series better than the late CFT Tour or the previous trails before that. OV and GM Pro Bass?? I wish them all the success and maybe I'll be in some of these events. Pete

Hey Guys,
I don't follow the tournament trails as much as I used too! This sounds like a Minni version of the FLW with bigger entry fee's? It will be cheaper to do the U.S series if our dollar keeps its strength ;D
I don't know why we don't talk to FLW and create a Canadian division?( Or is there one?)
I believe the number one reason we do not have the success we should is we need to cover it better with television/media. Look at the CFT the coverage is so Poorly done (From what I've seen?)
I wish them all the success!
Just my two cents!

Regarding your points Pete - Not only can you fish the Strens for less than half the cost, for the same payout, you also have room to grow with the Strens. The WFN Tour is the top-level tour in Canada. There is no where else to go after that. With the Strens you can qualify for the FLW tour, or the FLW Series. I think the WFN tour is good for Canada, but for anyone who wants to seriously fish tournaments - and I mean "for a living" serious, then the US is about the only option right now.
