Well, opening day has come and gone, and we can be free to flip docks, fish shallow, and throw our "1-ounce Perch jigs" without fear of reprisal. I had an interesting open day fishing the SEBO event. Well, not so interesting except the end of the day. We had five fish in the livewell and were headed back to check in with about five minutes to go, and about a mile away, at full speed, I blow a blade and half the center mass off my prop. I didn't hit anything, it just blew off. Needless to say, we had to crawl back to the launch and we were too late to be able to have any of our fish count. Ah well, those things happen. To the marina first thing tomorrow morning to see about a new prop. Weights were down this year, due to the cold front, but still lots of clones. Winning weight was just over 15 pounds. Hope everyone else had a great weekend. How did the pro-am go on White Lake Pete? Gary

Hey Gary, Sorry to hear about your prop. Are you sure you didn't hit anything??? The Pro-Am was fun, I had a really good time. We brought in a 5 fish limit for 14.33 lbs. The winner had 14.94 lbs. Jus tshy by 6 oz So we finished 2nd. Which isn't too bad considering there was a 50+ boat event on that body of water the day before. I want to the the organizers of Renegade Bass for putting on a great event. There was a BBQ afterwards and all of the Amateurs received a nice little tackle pack and medals. Well done fellas!!! Pete

Congratulations Pete, that's a good finish.
Yeah, $795 for a new prop kind of sucks. But, those things happen.
Where and how did you get your fish on White Lake?

At least it's just a prop and not the complete lower unit like our friend the Dr. has to replace because of what happened on Sunday. We caught our quality fish in Hayes Bay. Pete

Yes, I heard about someone losing a lower unit on White Lake Sunday. That makes it an expensive day.
Hayes Bay, huh? Strange, several people have told me in the past that they've caught quality fish in that bay, but I always felt like it was a bay of silt with no features in it whatsoever. That's what I get by growing up on the lake, preconceived notions.
