The Bassmaster E50 events have started this week. The first stop is on Smith Lake in Alabama. After 2 days Kevin Van d**n is leading by about 2 lbs. There is a twist to this tournament. If you are familiar with the old mega Bucks tournaments that BASS use to have, the semi finals and final rounds were done on course mapped out on the lake. Something like a golf course. The anglers will have a time limit to fish each hole. This type of fishing is extremely difficult because the pattern that you have developed on 1 hole may not work on another hole. This means that you have to develop a pattern for each hole basically. It will be interesting to see how it plays out. Pete

The first E50 event is over and Mark Davis wins another. That makes 3 wins Elite 50 events over the past 2 years. The way that he has been fishing lately, I wouldn't be surprised if he won another one this year. The top 6 were: Mark Davis, (he to needs to finish in the top 10 in the final standings to qualify for the Classic) Kevin Wirth Kelly Jordan Zell Rowland (nice to see Zell doing well. He needs to finish well to qualify for the Classic) Kevin Van Damm (the leader of days 1 and 2) Chad Morgenthaler That is the top 6 You can see all the results and some phots by clicking the link below: espn.go.com/outdoors/bassmaster/Pete
