The newest division in the everstart family of tournaments is the Southeastern series. They opened the fishing tournament season on Lake Okeechobee the first week of January. This week they are in Manning South Carolina on one of my favourite bodies of water.....the Santee Cooper Reservoir. The reservoir consists of 2 lakes. Lake Marion and Lake Moultrie.
The reason for the post is there is a rookie on that circuit that brought in a bag full on day 1. 5 fish weighing 32 lbs 13 ounces. That is an amazing weight for a five fish limit.
The bigger fish were caught by flipping and pitching in 4 - 7 foot of water. According to the flw website this weight is the heaviest to go across the scales. A record for the everstart and I believe the flw tour.
Keep an eye on this event because if the weather warms up for the next 2 rounds, there could be some more big weights coming across the scales.
